Romantic Getaway To The Hocking Hills 2

Abhi and I love road trips and traveling but we are not good at making perfect and strategic plans. That’s why our trip to the Hocking Hills was kind of spontaneous. We started early in the morning and saw the sun rising while we drove through the misty cedar lined roads and frozen lakes. We drove for 3 hours to get there and it was absolutely worth it.

There is so much that makes Hocking Hills a must visit place in Ohio. Cascading waterfalls, breathtaking cliffs, deep recess caves and lush greenery as far as the eye can see. Located in the picturesque sandstone region of Southeastern Ohio, Hocking Hills encompasses some of the most scenic areas in the entire state.  Rock outcrops, deep cool gorges, and waterfalls are found throughout this nature preserve.  The pristine beauty of the area is enhanced by the abundance of wildlife found throughout the region.

We were lucky because the weather was just perfect with a little sun and flurries all day round. The waterfalls, the snow and, the sky; everything was just amazing and we experienced the best of nature everywhere in the Hocking Hills. What caught my attention the most were the snow covered deep green narrow bridges over the clear blue waters. I couldn’t contain my glee and he couldn’t stop capturing it all.
Snow is always wonderful and so is making snowballs and and enjoying snow-dance. Walking through the snow-covered forest was mesmerizing. My husband couldn’t stop taking pics, and we ended up staying there for the entire day.
After stopping for gas and food, we got back on the road and headed back home. We streamed Chainsmokers for the entire drive, which proved to be the best music to go alongside the magnificent winter landscape all around us. With the sun just beginning to set, the frozen lakes sparkled in the light. As we drove towards the setting sun, we reflected  back on a perfect day in nature’s bounty.
